Meet the Teacher
Hi, I'm Darlyne Perez, a native English tutor.
​
I hold a university degree with over 120 credit hours, along with certifications in continuing education. With more than 10 years of teaching experience, I bring a wide range of skills to the classroom—including instruction, behavior modification, educational evaluation, mentorship, and homework support. I'm also a learning strategist, life coach, social supporter, and test prep coach for OPIc/TOEIC.​ I specialize in helping students improve their use of expressions, slang, and idioms, and grammar. My teaching journey began at the age of 18 as a preschool teacher, and I later expanded to working with school aged students, from elementary, to high school—both in person and online—focusing on academic skill development.

I help children, teens, and adults improve their speaking, confidence, and everyday English through clear explanations and friendly conversation. My lessons are personalized, supportive, and focused on real-life communication.

Highfliers Academy is a registered, independent ESOL program serving students from age five to adulthood, from beginner to advanced levels, all through a virtual classroom. Some of my services include vocabulary building, sentence structure, reading, topic-based discussions, proof reading emails/essays, and pronunciation practice.​​ I believe learning should be both effective and enjoyable.
